The Cabinet of Dr. Ramirez

"The Cabinet of Dr. Ramirez" is a re-make directed by Peter Sellars of a 1920 silent German film entitled "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari." The film is a musical horror spoof centered around the patients and staff-members at a private psychiatric hospital. It was written by and stars Mikhail Baryshnikov, Joan Cusack, Peter Gallagher, Peter Sellars and Ron Vawter. The film only had a theatrical run in France, though it was shown in the U.S. at Sundance in 1992. Lynch served as the Executive Producer of the film, but as with Crumb, only lent his name for support and had no actual involvement with the making of it.
