Twin Peaks Season 2 DVD on way?
LynchNet discussion board member sanvean posted this bit of information on the board:
"I used to manage the DVD section of the music store I work at. (I now only work one day a week, since I went back to school.) Anyway, my boss told me he ordered the next set of TP. Normally we get to order around 3,4 months before the DVD comes out."
Could it be that the first set of Season 2 is on the way? Three months from now would put it right about at the same time as season 1 came out last year. At this point this is only a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt. But if it pans out then there maybe be Twin Peaks DVDs in a lot of xmas stockings again this year.
French Mulholland Drive DVD review
Yet another Mulholland Drive DVD review this week. This time we take a look at the French version. It has some nice extra features, but the video quality leaves a bit to be desired. You can read the full review here.
Australian Mulholland Drive DVD reviews
A couple of reviews have popped up online for the Australian Mulholland Dive DVD. Looks like the extras are pretty much the same as the French disc. You can read dvd.net.au's review here, dvdbits.com's review here, and Region4dvd.net's review here.
Blue Bob gets European cd release
John Neff stopped by the discussion board with some great news on the Blue Bob cd. It will be released in Europe through regular music outlets. The box set, as on davidlynch.com, will be released in limited quantity October 15th, then a standard-package CD will see a general release in November. It is being released on an indie label, "Soulitude Records" in all the EU countries and Scandinavia and Switzerland. "There have been blind listening tests by FNAC (French record chain), and the album scored quite highly. We are hoping for pretty big numbers. It looks now like we will also be doing a show at The Olympia in Paris Nov. 11." Also, Bad Night will probably be the second video from the album.
German TP series DVD set review
The website areadvd.de has a review of the new German release of the Twin Peaks series box set. While it does include the pilot, it looks like they didn't use the new master, but instead a copy from German TV. Oh well, at least they got the pilot. You can read the full review here. Thanks to Lynchnet Discussion Board member Hop for the link.
Lion's Gate gets Cabin Fever
Ain't It Cool News is reporting that Lion's Gate has picked up the rights to Lynch colorbator Eli Roth's new horror film "Cabin Fever." Look for a wide release of 1000 to 1200 theaters either next summer or in October of 2003. Congrats Eli!

Lynch guest of honor at festival
CASABLANCA, Morocco (AP) - Movie directors David Lynch, Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola will be guests of honor at next month's Marrakech International Film Festival.
Scorsese, who filmed scenes for "The Last Temptation of Christ" and "Kundun" in Morocco, will be given the country's highest award, the Wissam alaouite, by King Mohammed VI at the Sept. 18-22 festival, organizers said.
Ten films will be shown in competition at the festival in the southern city of Marrakech.
Scorsese's upcoming 1860s mob tale, "Gangs of New York," stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Day-Lewis and Cameron Diaz.
At a news conference Thursday in Casablanca, French actress Jeanne Moreau, who will preside over the jury, praised the event's cultural diversity.
Filmmaker David Lynch also is slated to attend a tribute in his honor.
New Eraserhead and Dune DVDs in Japan
New DVD editions of Dune and Eraserhead have been released in Japan to replace the older, non-anamorphic versions. The new Eraserhead is anamorphic 16:9 Widescreen with a Dolby Digital 2.0 soundtrack. There's some grain and a fair share of scraches. Extras include two theatrical trailers and a Japanese TV spot. Dune is anamorphic 2.35:1 with a Dolby Digital 2.0 soundtrack. Extras include a still gallery. Thanks to Andreas Riis Paulsen for the info and pictures.
US Eraserhead DVD still delayed
Still more delays in the release of Lynch's ultimate Eraserhead DVD. Lynch mentioned in the chat room at davidlynch.com a week ago that there are still technical issues. No word yet on when it will be released, but with this much attention to detail and quality I have no doubt it'll be well worth the wait.
Lynch's Dune a Muse for the Fashion World
This month's Movieline magazine has a brief article on an L.A. designer using Dune as an inspiration for his work. You can read it here.
